Founded by Andy and Todd, The Honest Impact Initiative is a collaborative endeavour that supports and guides others in their journey to express their charity in a way that gives them the strongest sense of fulfilment and purpose. We believe in a holistic approach to giving and that it should encompass donating Time, Treasure, and Talent.
Meet the Team
Andy Yan
Co-Founder
Andy is the co-founder of Honest Impact Initiative and helps shape the organization’s strategic direction. He immigrated to Canada in 2000 with his parents and settled in the Chinatown-Leslieville community. Having seen his parents work through the challenges of building a better life in a new country, he recognizes the importance of creating a more equitable city where everyone can succeed. Andy is also an investment professional, advising institutions and helping finance critical Canadian infrastructure projects and housing development. He’s sat on several charitable giving committees where he helps companies develop their giving policy. He’s also been on the advisory committee of several non-profit organizations, where he advises on sound governance practices, board restructuring, and fundraising strategies.
Todd Toso
Co-Founder
Todd is the co-founder of Honest Impact Initiative and supports tactical approaches to further the organization. Having moved to Toronto’s Downtown Core just over four years ago, Todd’s journey has been deeply influenced by the community-centric nature of the city. His upbringing, including working alongside his mom in community efforts, instilled a strong belief that even making a difference to one person is invaluable. Todd’s expertise centers around the theme of “engagement”—whether it’s a brief interaction or an in-depth discussion, he strives to ensure that every encounter leaves both parties better than before. His hobbies span across different ages, from inspiring kids with his interests to producing music as his personal sanctuary. Through his work, Todd focuses on helping others find charities that resonate with them emotionally, believing that meaningful connections drive sustained engagement.
