Founded by friends, The Honest Impact Initiative redefines philanthropy by empowering individuals to contribute Time, Talent, and Treasure beyond monetary donations.

We aim to support and guide others in their unique journey to express their charity authentically and meaningfully.

Our rigorous Due Diligence ensures the charities we partner with align with our values and community, involving comprehensive evaluations of financials, growth intentions, and impact on target communities, forming the cornerstone of our commitment to purposeful giving.

We sat down at a café one day to talk about what giving means to us, and we realized that it’s how we give that provides us with a strong sense of fulfillment and purpose. We believe everyone can give and that giving means more than just donating money. We believe in a holistic approach to giving that encompasses donating Time, Treasure, and Talent.
We started by identifying causes that are near and dear to us. From here, we look at a charity’s programs, personnel, governance structure, and regulatory and financial filings. We also meet with the charity’s leadership team and board members to discuss their strategic objectives and identify ways we can help.
After reviewing 16 Toronto-based charities, we identified one that most aligned with our values and objectives. As our first charity partner, we partnered with Applegrove Community Complex (Applegrove). This registered charity offers essential services such as affordable day care, after-school youth programs, food security programs, and scholarships to families in Toronto’s East End Community.
We began collaborating with Applegrove’s leadership team to help develop their fundraising strategy, expand Applegrove’s existing programs, and support the continued development of Applegrove’s community projects.
In August 2023, we kicked off the Toys in Development program with a Canadian toy innovator to provide kids of Applegrove a “behind the scenes” look into toy development and potential careers paths and opportunities within STEM.
Our corporate partner supported Applegrove’s holiday toy drive and provided toys for over 60 families in the local Toronto community.
We brought forward the idea of an annual East End Music Festival fundraising event that brings the community together and allows Applegrove to connect with local businesses and private donors.
Honest Impact seeded the inaugural East End Music Festival with a $4,500 donation. We were also pleasantly surprised by how much support we received from our supporters and the local community.
From here, we need your help! Join us in donating your Time, Treasure or Talent to help Applegrove further their mission and vision of providing essential services to the East End community.
